OUR PASTOR
Rev. Dr. Joseph G. Bodnar
Rev. Dr. Joseph G. Bodnar has lived in the New Brunswick area his entire life. He has been the pastor of his “Home” church, the Bayard Street Presbyterian church since 1971. He received a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and Religion from Bloomfield College, a Master of Divinity from New Brunswick Theological Seminary and a doctor of ministry from Drew Theological Seminary and was ordained by the New Brunswick Presbytery. Dr. Bodnar has served on numerus community organization boards, civic groups and communities of the New Brunswick Presbytery. He has performed wedding ceremonies thought New Jersey for over forty years in chapels, wedding centers, hotels, restaurants, homes and parks.
OUR CHURCH
The Bayard Street Presbyterian Church was established in 1903 and has been around for more than 100 years. In order for a church to be relevant it must be motivated by a divine inspired vision. For one hundred years the congregation of the Bayard Street Presbyterian Church has passionately pursued the goals of discerning the will of God and bringing it to fruition. We remain committed to welcoming all people, communicating love and forgiveness, honoring our heritage, and embracing diversity, reaching out to the community and especially those in need, glorifying Jesus Christ, praising God and maintaining programs that nurture people in their faith journey. As we press on to these goals we are grounded in prayer and relying on the Holy Spirits guidance and power. We strive to be intentional in our efforts, to be invitational to all people and to be initiators of God inspired actions.
